Class 10. Wednesday 26/11

Hello

Today we talked about unusual schools.

How do you like a school on the water?
The classroom there is a boat and students learn practical skills - to swim, row, navigate a boat etc.

Also we listened to some children speaking about homeschooling.
What are advantages and disadvantages?

You don´t have to wake up early and take a bus.
But you don´t have classmates and friends. You don´t have after-school activities etc.

You had a chance to creat your own "Dream School". What kind of school is it? Where is it? Is it in the forest or mountains? What do students study there? What do they have/don´t have to do?
You were very creative and here´re our projects:

Class 9. Wednesday 19/11

Hello

Today we learnt some new grammar structures : HAVE TO/DON´T HAVE TO. We use them to say what is obligatory to do or not at school.

Mandy is at new school:

I have to take a bus.
I have to get up early.
I have to have lunch in the canteen.
BUT:
I don´t have to wear a uniform.
I don´t have to clean my classroom.

We did our Olympic Games and practised writing phrases. Correct your mistakes at home:

Player 1 - 6 points
Player 2 - 5 points
Player 3 - 4 points
Player 4 - 8 points
Player 5 - 5 points

Do you know what "Homeschooling" is? Find the information in the internet.
Would you prefer to study subjects at home and not to go to school? Why/Why not?

When you study at home, what do you have to do and what not?
Example: When you study at home you don´t have to get up early.
You have to research by yourself.

Write more sentences about it. (You´ll get extra points for this task).

Class 8. Wednesday 12/11

 Hello!

Our blog competition started the previous week. So, publish your stories with the Dragon in the blog. Also don´t forget to vote for the stories of others - look at your blog and the one from C5 Monday, there´re also stories where you can vote!
Also we continued talking about school and school subjects. We checked your homework where you had to write about your school day. 
We listened to a girl talking about her school time-table. We revised the time expressions of frequency: once/twice a week, three times a week, every day etc. 



You talked about your school week and answered the questions:
Which subjects do you have most often/least often?
Which subjects are you best at?
How often do you have each subject?


Finally, we had our Olympic Games and got the following points:

Player 1 - 9 points
Player 2 - 8 points
Player 3 - 8 points
Player 4 - 8 points
Player 5 - 4 points
Player 6 - 19 points

Your homework is to watch a video where different students are talking about their favourite subjects and write down - what subjects they like and why.

And one more video - "What´s your typical school day" (a bit difficult) - write down what subjects she has got. Don´t forget to write down your ideas for our Toy Story!

My week with Baby Dragon


I took the Dragon on Wednesday.During the week he did homework with me and he went to bed with me.
Some days you played games with me.
On Saturday we went  to the theme park and he came with us.
On Sunday he came with us to my grandparents went.
On Monday he did homework with me and he went to bed.
On Tuesday my sister took a photo with me and then I printed it.
And today,Wednesday we went to the academy together.

Class 7. Wednesday 05/11

Hello!

This week we´ve got some news!

We´re organising a blog competition "My Week with the Dragon". You´ll have to post your stories about your week with the Dragon here in the blog. Write a story, post photos and put any interesting links in the Internet. The rest of the class has to vote for the story in the comments of the blog below, you can give your points from 1 to 10 for the story you like. The story that gets the most points in the end of the trimestre - wins a surprise!

All right, so lots of plans! Today we´ve revised the vocabulary from our new topic - school subjects and what we study:
We study the science of numbers and shapes - Maths.
We study the events from the past - History.
We study the parts of living things - Biology etc.

We had our Olympic Games and got the following points:
Player 1 - 12 points
Player 2 - 13 points
Player 3 - 11 points
Player 4 - 16 points
Player 5 - 14 points
Player 6 - 16 points

We also watched a short video about a school day in Britain and we found out a lot of interesting things about a Lollipop Lady, school subjects, school day, canteen etc.

We also learnt some verbs to express what we like and dislike:
It is OK + (Maths is OK.)
I like ++ (I like Biology.)
I love +++ (I love P.E.)
I don´t like - (I don´t like History.)
I can´t stand - - (I can´t stand I.T.)
I hate - - -  (I hate Chemistry.)



We listened to Adriana talking about her school day, the subjects she likes/dislikes and why:

I don´t like Geography, because it´s boring.
I like P.E., because it´s fun.
I like Science, because the teacher is nice etc.

Your homework is to write about your school day (what subjects you´ve got, what time). Write about subjects you like/love/hate/can´t stand etc. and explain why. (Do it in your notebooks).

 This week a lucky student is Sergio who spends a week with the Dragon. Write your story in the blog.
